  • Proactively identify material inconsistencies and assist with implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and organized test documentation and daily records.
  • Communicate test results and concerns to project managers, superintendents, and foremen.
  • Support general shop and yard duties, including cleanliness, equipment organization, parts pickup, and occasional pilot car driving.
  • Travel to job sites across Montana as needed to support ongoing projects.

  • 2+ years of experience in construction materials testing or related field preferred.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel for remote project support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a lab or with construction testing equipment (nuclear density gauge, sieves, slump cone, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO testing procedures and DOT standards.
  • Prior experience in gravel or aggregate quality control is a strong plus.

Key Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following all safety protocols.
  • Dependable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Why Join LHC, Inc.?

  • Competitive pay based on experience.
  • Employer-paid health insurance for employees and their families.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and continued technical training.
  • Be part of a company that values hard work, community, and craftsmanship.
