Job Summary
The Rural Carrier Associate plays a vital role in the efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. The Rural Carrier Associate will operate different types of vehicles, including box trucks and manual transmission vehicles, while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Duties
- Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
- Operate vehicles such as box trucks and manual transmission vehicles safely.
- Load and unload mail and packages, ensuring proper handling of items.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks for efficient movement of heavy loads.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading processes.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and returns.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols while driving and handling mail.
- Assist with moving items as needed within the delivery area.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving preferred, including familiarity with delivery driver responsibilities.
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and moving items frequently throughout the day.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with team members.
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not mandatory.
