Position Summary/ Department Summary:
At Boston Children’s Hospital, we strive to develop new treatments for pediatric disease. We are seeking a highly motivated and independent individual as a research assistant to join our basic and translational research group in the Department of Cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. The research assistant will be a member of a team that is developing novel therapies for inherited heart disease.
Key Responsibilities:

• Performing molecular biology and animal experiments.
• Performing RNA-seq and single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq experiments.
• Performing histology, immunostaining, and confocal imaging.
• Participating in lab upkeep, maintenance, and ordering.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

• The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in biology, animal science, toxicology, pharmacology or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred

Experience:

• At least 12 months of hands-on laboratory experience, including experience with tissue sectioning and imaging, and molecular biology.
• Intermediate laboratory skills, including molecular biology and microscopy.
• Self-motivation and independence are musts.
• Excellent inter-personal skills and the desire to learn new skills are a must.
• Excellent record-keeping and meticulous attention to detail are musts.
