Job Summary
The position for Research & Instruction Librarian duties include providing support research by students and faculty, teaching legal research courses, leading outreach to students, and developing community and expertise through national, regional, and subject-specific professional organizations.Duties & Responsibilities
- Research and Reference • Active participation in research support for law school faculty and students • Provide legal library reference to faculty, students, staff, the University community, and the public • Support technology-based services for research, law library operations improvement, and content creation, such as digital initiatives and services
- Teaching
Teach first-year and advanced legal research courses - Outreach
Assist in public engagement to promote faculty scholarship
Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and Master's degree in Information or Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution or the equivalent. A signed agreement to complete a Master's in Information or Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution within 2.5 years of hire will also be acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated successful experience teaching law students and partnering with law faculty on research projects.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 12/16/2025. Salary range is $70,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience.
