Mill Valley Kitchen is looking for part-time or full time hosts, for day or evening shifts.
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a seamless dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage reservations and seating efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they arrive and provide a warm welcome.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize guest flow.
- Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times effectively.
- Assist guests with inquiries about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Handle phone calls with professionalism, providing information and taking reservations.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in the front-of-house area.
- Address guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous Host/Host or food service experience is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
- Experience in hospitality or hotel environments is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy restaurant setting.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
