Summary/Objective
The New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) ReStore sells donated building materials and
home furnishings to the public at discount prices. Its inventory comes from many sources: individuals,
corporations, and other partner organizations. Proceeds from ReStore sales support NOAHH?s work
serving families in the Greater New Orleans area.
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team. The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently, providing excellent service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a warm and courteous manner
- Operate cash registers, scanners, and POS systems
- Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions
- Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers as needed
- Ensure accurate cash handling and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve complaints or refer to the manager
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the checkout stations
- Follow all store procedures, including safety and loss prevention protocols
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior retail or customer service experience is a plus
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to [15-30] lbs occasionally
