Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Private Duty Nurse to provide personalized care to patients in their homes or healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and be committed to delivering high-quality nursing care tailored to the unique needs of each patient. This role requires proficiency in various nursing procedures and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
- Perform specialized procedures such as gastric lavage, catheterization, and dialysis as needed.
- Utilize electronic health record systems like Cerner for accurate documentation and patient management.
- Conduct venipuncture for blood draws and IV placements, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Provide respiratory support, including ventilatory assistance when required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment options, and post-care instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient care, adhering to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license in good standing.
- Previous experience in inpatient settings, particularly in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or similar environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in performing advanced nursing skills such as ventilating patients, catheterizing, and conducting dialysis.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems, specifically Cerner.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
