Security Officer

Department Overview

The Security Department provides 24-hour access control and works closely with the onsite 24/7 AMR paramedics as well as our assigned Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.

Position Overview

We are actively hiring individuals with exceptional customer service skills to serve as Security Officers. Under the general supervision of the Security Supervisor, this position monitors vehicle traffic entering the community through one of three access gates to validate the proper entry of residents, guests, employees, and authorized vendors in the Boca West community. Individuals in this role prepare and maintain gate activity logs, prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, and report any crime, suspicious activity, and service delivery issues. This position also responds to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards and medical emergencies. The Security Officer may also be required to perform Security Access Control (SAC) duties as requested.

• Must demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Must understand, speak, read, and write in English, and have clear and

intelligible speech in person, by telephone, and by hand-held radio.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Must maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standards.

• Knowledge of personal safety and physical security functions in a

residential community.

• Working knowledge of ABDI and security programs and systems.

• Basic understanding of security standards, policies and procedures.

• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays (8-hour shifts/

40-hour workweek).

• Must successfully pass background check and a preemployment drug test as

a condition of employment.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in security or customer service.
• Law enforcement or military experience desired.

Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the duties of the position will be considered.
