The Senior Director of Medical Services is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing medical operations across Janus sites. This role provides strategic and hands-on support with policy development, team training, compliance, and cross departmental coordination. The successful candidate is an experienced leader with a minimum of five years directly governing the operations of medical delivery systems and environments. Medical practitioner experience and credentialing as a nurse is not required. The Senior Director of Medical Services ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient medical services that align with organizational KPIs and support Janus's evolving clinical landscape.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight of all medical services including clinic support, provider scheduling assistance (PSA), and change management initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership to design and implement training programs for the full medical team.
- Act as medical compliance liaison to QA initiatives and participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and CAP audits.
- Interface regularly with executive and site leadership to align operational strategy with clinical and programmatic goals.
- Lead medical policy and procedure development, including integration with Level 3.7 MNTP standards.
- Guide and train Sobering Center medical team and oversee EMT coordination.
- Support alternative destination planning for emergency medical services and ambulance diversion protocols.
- Develop and monitor medical KPI metrics, both for billable services and downstream impacts.
Supervision Includes
- (RN): Unit support and clinical coordination.
- (MA): Oversight with CA title clarity; ensure consistency of "Medical Assistant" designation.
- (LVN - Clinics): Onboarding, supervision, and KPI management.
- (LVN - Sobering Center): Oversight and EMT support.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in healthcare management or medical services leadership.
- Experience in policy development, team training, and compliance oversight.
- Familiarity with SUD treatment, and behavioral health settings.
- Knowledge of Level 3.7 residential treatment standards.
- Experience in supervising multidisciplinary teams including EMTs and LVNs.
- Strong understanding of billable services, KPI tracking, and healthcare analytics.
