Job Description
Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in support of our Data Center team. The ideal individual will have prior experience supporting large-scale mission critical construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and supply chain to deliver compliant projects.
- Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
- Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized
- Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
- Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required.
- Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly.
- Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
- Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
- Forecast and update key project milestones.
- Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
- Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
- Rapid response to RFIs from the field.
- Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.
- Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
- Client management – assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
- Strategic Thinking - provides advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
- Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured.
- Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Project/Program specifications:
- Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver high-quality, globally standardized data center designs on time and within budget.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing clear reporting on schedule, cost, and quality metrics throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive innovation and proactively identify solutions during design and construction to minimize change orders without compromising quality or reliability.
- Champion speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework, automating manual processes, and standardizing best practices across the organization.
- Develop and disseminate global best practice documentation to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
- Manage design escalations and collaborate with procurement, construction, and external partners to resolve issues efficiently.
- Inspire and motivate teams to uphold exceptional quality standards in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Influence internal stakeholders, operations teams, and external consultants to align on program-wide design changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical engineering, civil engineering, or applicable bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant project management experience.
- Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Smartsheet, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.
- Excellent communication skills.
Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $120K-$155K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
