Server Assistant|Runner/Busser
Position Summary
The Server Assistant|Runner/Busser is responsible for ensuring guests are seated at clean and properly set tables. This role involves promptly clearing and resetting tables, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and assisting servers in delivering food and beverages. Additionally, the Server Assistant helps to create a welcoming atmosphere by ensuring that all table settings are complete and that the dining area is tidy and organized, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. This is a tipped position, with earning potential based on service quality and guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Maintains cleanliness of restroom, restaurant and side service areas.
- Sets up the bus stand, restocks and prepares bus stand for shift change and/or close.
- Properly complete all involvement with the guests, i.e. bread service, water service within the time limits as specified by outlet standards.
- Checks high chairs and booster seats for cleanliness.
- Empties trash and spot sweeps the restaurant and bar floor.
- Prepares coffee and iced tea during shift.
- Offer assistance to guests by clearing away dishes and glassware, and refills beverages.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Remove dishes from side service areas and place in the dishwasher area.
- Responsible for separating linen from bus pans and trays and placing in linen bag.
- Responsible for initial clearing of the places i.e. removes leftovers by dumping food items in the trash.
- Rearranges tables for special or large parties.
- Assist server with serving food or garnishing plates as required.
- Assist server with preparation of orders and or delivery of orders as required.
- Vacuums the carpet, mops the floor, cleans the walls, cabinets and food storage areas in the restaurant.
- Maintains ice caddies in the service areas.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift, push, pull & carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend and stoop.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
