Position Summary:
This position is Part-Time, 16 hours/week, and works in an SLO Provider home. We are seeking a second DSP in a related shared living home to provide supports for full support with transfers using a lift, support with hygiene and activities of daily living, support to transition into community integration and transitions into accessible vehicle. The SLO Enhanced DSP will also engage with the individual for social and fine/gross motor skills as well.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced DSP who is familiar with transfers in and out of wheelchair, using a lift, and is comfortable working in someone’s private home with the Shared Living DSP who resides there as well.
This is a Part-Time, 16 hours/week position with the following schedule: 8am-noon, Monday -Thursday
Essential Job Functions include:
- Serving as the second DSP to support shared living DSP with daily supports to the individual who resides in their private home.
- Community Integration Supports including supporting with transitions to and from the community back home using accessible equipment.
- Support with all hygiene, transfers, and ADLs.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- DSP certification
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Safety training such as Mandt, Safety Care, etc.
- Prior experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Valid Maine driver’s license required and clean driving record.
Schedule:
- 16 hours per week
- 8am-12noon, Monday through Thursday.
