- Records shipping data including but not limited to, bills of lading, discrepancies in the customer order, weights of shipment, rates of shipments, and international documents.
- Record freight damage documentation including, but not limited; to freight claims, and other areas related to shipping.
- Follows up on freight claims to assure we collect our re-imbursements. Completes ship confirmation in Oracle and reports daily shipments. Scan documents daily.
- Schedules customer deliveries through the 3PL. Schedules freight for customer pick up orders.
- Participates in routine, periodic inventories, counting and recording stock items.
- Participate in the training of other employees as assigned. Be available for procedure inquires from other employees. Actively participate in the development and quality control of the department.
- Communicate with management team on daily issues to ensure resolutions of customer orders regarding freight and other issues related to shipping.
- Provide shipping related assistance to production departments and both internal/external customers.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read Bills of Lading and product specifications (PO’s).
- Ability to work long hours.
- Ability to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Ability to make decisions that are varied but usually confined to situations that are familiar.
- Ability to work as a team member and participant in projects that involve or impact several departments.
- High school diploma required
- 1 to 3 years of manufacturing or shipping related experience.
