CONCORD ENGINEERING GROUP, INC. is searching for a Site Resident Observer/Construction Manager to oversee a two-year RNG Biogas construction project for our customer.
POSITION SUMMARY
As the Site Resident Observer/Construction Manager, you will serve as the engineering liaison, on site at
the entire project, for Concord Engineering. You will oversee all work conducted, attend field meetings,
oversee the project schedule, and coordinate on-site presence as required for discipline-specific oversight
inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Serve as Concord’s representative regarding all engineering aspects while being on site for the entire project.
- Attend field meetings
- Oversee project schedule and provide two week look-ahead to coordinate on-site presence as required for specific oversight inspections.
- Issue weekly construction reports to the Owner detailing work complete, test results and provide input is there are schedule or deficiency issues.
- Oversee the project deficiency log
- Serve as the civil, structural, mechanical and electrical representative as it pertains to field work. It is a benefit if a specific discipline can be self-performed
- Oversee all testing and inspections for the mechanical and electrical scope of the project and coordinate with inhouse subject matter experts as needed.
- Participate in startup of RNG mechanical systems and electrical systems with support from the overall project team including: Concord staff engineers & sub-consultants, vendor technicians, the Owner and the General Contractor team.
- Intimate knowledge of all project’s engineering-related design documents.
- Interface with the project design team, owner’s representatives, and contractors.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and issues related to engineering.
- Quality control/adherence to documents and the manufacturer’s installation recommendations.
- Manage and approve close-out documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or similar field preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in construction management, with experience working on RNG, waste water treatment facilities or similar projects preferred.
- General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil and structural disciplines can have a higher degree of knowledge in one industry.
- Knowledge about RNG facilities and/or wastewater treatment facilities is a plus.
- Knowledge about ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code is a plus.
- Organized, energetic, willing to work as a team, and reliable.
- Full-time on project site.
- Able to work collaboratively within Concord as well with the client and contractors
- Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and have strong technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations and reports.
- Excellent Microsoft Office abilities
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English
