The Special Events and Experiences Assistant is responsible for executing both internal and external events for the Cleveland Metroparks and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. This includes coordination with the Event Operations Manager and Sales Manager to ensure a seamless transition into the event planning and execution process.
- Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
- Assists in end-to-end event execution of weddings, picnics, corporate programs and special events, including room set-up, F&B, AV, vendor load-in/out, and onsite client communications.
- Uses vehicles (including vans, cars, and golf carts) to safely escort private vehicles through crowded areas in the Zoo and throughout the Park District.
- Works on special projects and assists with major Park District Events.
- Travels to various locations throughout the park district to assist with park district events including: Transporting event supplies; performs set-up duties, assists with event; and performs tear duties.
- Adheres to the Special Events & Experiences standard operating procedures and uniform policy.
Education and Experience
High School graduate or equivalent.
Credentials, Licenses and Certifications
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license under the laws of the State of Ohio.
