Position Title: Student Success Associate
Department: Student Life (12 month)
Location: SPIRE Academy, Geneva, OH
The Student Success Associate’s day primarily will be focused around there responsibility for monitoring the day-to-day routines and schedules of our student-athletes and camp participants in the residence halls and campus while promoting a safe, secure, and healthy environment for their development.
Position Responsibilities
Serve as a responsible, adult presence, providing guidance and support in there residence halls and academy for staff and student-athletes.
Assist enforcement of policies and procedures ensuring that the student-athlete code of conduct is being maintained
Escalate student and parent concerns, ensuring that the appropriate staff members are aware of the conditions in the dorm.
Assist Academy staff with task assigned
Promote a positive healthy environment for the student-athletes
Maintain the residential hall, including room checks and headcount
Be aware of student-athletes’ daily schedules holding them accountable to obligations Assist leadership with various projects
Design and implement student life programming as needed
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethic codes
Other duties as assigned
Operations
Monitor students in dorms and throughout campus, including wake up, check-ins and curfew times.
Perform regular walkthroughs and inspections of the residence halls and campus spaces working with maintenance, campus safety, and other departments to coordinate and direct upkeep requests.
Coordinate with safety and academy staff to ensure the safety and security of students and residence halls and academy.
Assist with housing and campus processes including check in/out, early arrival and opening/closing of residence halls.
Assist academy in day to day operations including; mailroom, substitute teaching, chaperone of student activity and medical appointments
Attend and contribute to department meetings as assigned
Attend and contribute to general planning for Academy and summer camp programs
Participate in rotating shifts as assigned: 7:00am-2:00pm 4:00pm to 11:00pm
Communication
Communicate and follow up on conduct expectations of all student-athletes
Communicate and enforce appropriate disciplinary actions for violations
Collaborate and communicate emergency response and crisis management plans for various situations including weather, lockdown, student illness, injury, etc.
Collaborate with departments including sports, academics, health services for student-athlete’s development
Communicate openly and regularly with students and parents/guardians
Take detailed notes and communicate areas of note or concern effectively with the primary mentor and other Student Life leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must possess good judgment and sensitivity relating to students of various backgrounds
Ability to supervise/redirect students of all age groups and work in student life department on given rotating shifts
Ability to live on Campus as apart of a licenses space agreement
Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and with sensitivity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Successful passing of background check
Highly organized and responsible with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects effectively
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced organization
A superior work ethic
Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
Preferred Skills
Experience in education, sports or related area
Experience as a collegiate athlete
Experience with residential life in a boarding school environment and/or summer camps
Experience with working with students of all ages and abilities
Experience in counseling, crisis response, and mediation
Experience in a high-pressure, academic/performance setting First Aid and CPR Certification
Obtain Drivers certification
Proficient with computers and computer systems
Bilingual
Bachelor's Degree from an accrediting college/university
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, stairs, etc.
This role is considered essential and may be required to work during weather emergencies or business closures in order to meet operational requirements? Ability to pass (T8 physical along with becoming a registered transportation driver.
COMPENSATION
Salaried position from $32,000-38,000, with Benefits, on campus room and board.
