Position Summary:
The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including all dishes, utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas. This role also assists in basic food prep and supports kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.

Ensure dishwashing and pot washing areas are clean and organized at all times.

Remove trash and food waste from kitchen areas and dispose of it properly.

Restock clean dishes, glassware, and utensils in designated areas.

Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, and surfaces in the kitchen and storage areas.

Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.

Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.

Report any maintenance or safety issues to management.

Support kitchen staff during busy service periods.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Previous stewarding or kitchen cleaning experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.

Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards.

Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.

Team-oriented with a positive and reliable attitude.
