Camp Friendship is seeking Summer Camp Counselors!
Camp Friendship is a coed overnight summer camp for kids ages 7-16 located in Central Virginia and we’re hiring for our 2024 counselor team! Our counselors are positive role models for their campers, love the great outdoors, and can turn any moment into a fun-filled experience.
Role Highlights: Counselors live in the cabin with campers and lead activities. Supervising the group of campers in their cabin, they’ll facilitate daily routines, offer guidance and support, and ensure a safe and inclusive environment, setting campers up for success. Counselors will also lead a range of activities based on their skills and experience, creating fun and engaging lessons that prioritize safety, promote curiosity, and foster growth.
Job requirements:
- Passionate about working with kids and creating a safe environment for them to learn and grow.
- Experience in activity areas like Sports (Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Football etc.), Outdoor Adventure, Archery, Climbing, Orienteering, Fire Building and more!
- Strong creative problem solving skills and the ability to adapt plans to meet the diverse needs of the campers.
- Team-oriented and reliable, eager to contribute to a collaborative environment.
- At least 18 years old.
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience coaching youth sports, leading scouts, or teaching in a classroom
- Full send with costumes for weekly themed parties
- Would lead your team to victory in Capture the Flag
- Can make the perfect smore
This position is seasonal, June-August, and includes onsite housing and meals.

Pay: $400.00 per week
