SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Leadership Development Associate (SCM LDA) is a role that combines the development aspects of Parker’s Leader Development Program (LDP/Program) with the general duties of a Parker Sourcing Specialist, Buyer/Planner and Logistics Analyst. The SCM LDA’s primary duties will involve supports individual sourcing projects and/or a set of assigned commodities by deploying best practices, procurement tools and negotiation skills, plan, scheduled and manage production schedules, analyze logistics processes for improvement and incorporating Program aspects to support decision-making processes that will impact our long-term future.

The Program involves a two-year rotation where the Leadership Development Associates (LDAs) will work in a variety of roles, in a competitive training and hands-on leadership program designed to provide knowledge, and experience with using their discretion and independent judgment related to their skillsets to support the business. Leadership training and development experiences throughout the initial two years with the goal to develop skillsets in supervision, team leadership, and management. While in program, rotational assignments are structured to expose participants to coaching/mentoring from other professionals from the organization, different business divisions, facilities, and managers nation-wide.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

In addition to various leadership development activities and tasks related to the Program, the LDA will perform direct responsibilities related to a sourcing specialist, buyer/planner and logistic coordinator assignment, including, but not limited to:


Sourcing Specialist Track:

  • Position sources suppliers, and may assist with bid evaluations, cost analyses, price justification, and risk assessment of suppliers.
  • May assist with supplier negotiations on new procurements or changes to existing purchase orders.
  • May draft purchase orders and agreements for approval by the Sourcing & Commodity Manager.
  • Coordinate and participate in supplier meetings.


Buyer/Planner Track:

  • Purchase parts, equipment, and materials by preparing request for quotations and submitting purchase orders with approved suppliers. Issue purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers.
  • Plan, schedule and manage production capacity load to ensure maximum on-time delivery.
  • Ensure maintenance and accuracy of open purchase orders, quotes, work orders and part master data. Maintain accurate lead times for assigned commodities.
  • Monitor and evaluate production execution to plan and supplier performance.
  • Advise appropriate personnel of production issues or impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery.
  • Resolve shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues.
  • Facilitate the resolution of issues by arranging and participating in conferences between suppliers and company personnel.
  • Negotiate and settle damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes with suppliers.
  • Provide parts, equipment, and materials information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintain a variety of schedules, records, and reports pertaining to the tracking of materials through the production cycle and availability of production resources.
  • Assist in executing requisite system transactions needed to support the receipt, storage and transferring of material.
  • Manage inventory levels; generate tracking reports and perform data entry as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and provides suggestions for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in developing alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier site visits and evaluates them as to production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria. May complete supplier certification as part of a technical and/or quality team.
  • Comply with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions. Complies with Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM) policies and procedures.

Logistics Coordinator Track
  • Assist in fulfilling shipping orders.
  • Receive, processes and arranges for the distribution of inbound materials.
  • Arrange freight services to facilitate shipping and receiving.
  • Create material movement transactions.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree acquired before June 2026 with preferred concentration in Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree such as, Operations Management, Materials and Logistics Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering and Marketing
  • GPA requirement - Overall 3.0 or better
  • Geographic mobility during and after the program
  • Demonstrated Technical competence and analytical ability
  • Computer skills – Microsoft applications
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Some divisions are subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status) .


COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

  • Pay Range: $60,600/annually to $115,000/annually reflecting variations based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
