TRANSITION CASE TECHNICIAN (SELPA)
SALARY: $33.78 to $41.20 Hourly (Range 81)
LENGTH OF SERVICE: 12 Months/215 Days per Year/8 Hours per Day
(This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continuation of the grant).

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Transition Case Technician coordinates employment training and placement opportunities and services for students with special needs who are transitioning from school to post-school involvement with employment and training.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates provision of employment training and placement opportunities for students; • Coordinates student school-to-work transition services provided by local agencies • Monitors student progress through communication with employers, local agencies, teachers, parents, counselors, etc.;
- Conducts vocational situation assessments; • Provides linkage to adult services;
- Provides staff development and parent training;
- Assists in the coordination of transitional related activities; • Maintains appropriate records.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience working with transition and job development services, facilitating staff development workshops; Skill in the use of PC computer systems and software, providing coordination of services from multiple sources; Knowledge of appropriate transition services and methods for students, interagency practices and procedures, labor laws relating to minors, computer operation; Ability to perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks, maintain records, establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with students, parents, school and other agency personnel, meet scheduling deadlines, work flexible hours; Physical Abilities include standing and walking for extended periods, talking/hearing, and near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2) years experience performing job training and/or job placement services; • One (1) year experience facilitating workshops;
- Possession of a high school diploma (or its equivalency) or higher or possession of a GED. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a B.A. or B.S. degree;
- Two (2) years of experience performing job development and job coaching activities;
- One (1) year experience in a California school district or County office of education; NECESSARY MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION
