Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sets team expectations and goals in accordance to the Culture Commitments & MFPS Transport, Inc. priorities and holds team members accountable to those standards.
Manages all aspects of the development of team personnel, including coaching, performance development reviews, training, accountability to expectations, etc.
Engages with onboarding and training of new hires and works to incorporate and align with training program expectations.
Manages driver scheduling, trip routing, and trip planning and transportation vehicles tracking.
Collaborates with dispatchers, logistics coordinators, production, and sales to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any transportation issues along with Transport Operations Manager
Prepares paperwork, materials and equipment to support staff in daily tasks.
Plans, organizes and manages the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
Promotes safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending safety meetings, contributing to and implementing fleet safety program and meeting with individual staff members.
Conducts annual driver observations. Observation may include riding with each driver or virtual ride-a-longs to observe driving performance and safety performance and develops action plan for improvement when necessary.
Participates in accident, incident or violations investigations to ascertain damage, liability, gather facts, videos, documents and submit claims to insurance provider and recordkeeping system and participate in accident review committee.
Interprets and complies with transportation regulations (DOT/FMCSA, safety regulations, Fleet Safety Program and company policies and procedures for workers.
Directs procurement processes including equipment and supplies, vendor contracts, or requisitions approval.
Assists with departmental bid process.
Monitors driver hours, performance, and safety through GPS tracking system, electronic logging devices (ELDs) and regular communications
Completes payroll and bonus, TPOD, UKG and ELD process.
Assists with the selection of new warehouses bringing to light transportation issues with the sight snow removal, parking, maintenance repairs, and the food safety protocol.
Promote driver satisfaction through recognition, problem-solving and regular engagement.
Conducts regular check-ins and communications with drivers to assess trip progress and address concerns or delays. Part of the on-call support program.
Maintain accurate records of driver activity, maintenance issues, and Company and regulatory documentation.
Adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
Reports safety, food safety, and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include coaching and developing staff, interviewing, hiring; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED;
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from four-year College or university – preferred but not required;
· Three years’ experience in transportation, warehousing or related field;
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
· CDL class A required.
