We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Community Development Lending & Investments (Affordable Housing) to join our Credit Services – Real Estate team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA – HYBRID.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Own the deal cycle – originate, structure, underwrite and close sizable construction loans and LIHTC equity investments.
- Manage the portfolio – actively manage a book of loans and investments, including regular site visits, requisition approvals and hands-on risk monitoring.
- Build trusted relationships – serve as a primary point of contact for developers, LIHTC syndicators, third-party consultants, external counsel and credit-risk partners.
- Drive cross-sell – collaborate with business-development teams across BNY’s lines of business to deepen client relationships and unlock new revenue.
- Stay ahead of risk – surface emerging credit issues, complete periodic reviews, update borrower ratings and satisfy all regulatory reporting requirements.
- Champion community finance – leverage federal, state and local subsidy programs used to finance the development of high-quality affordable housing for LMI households.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- 7-8 years in commercial real-estate lending, community development finance or related banking roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a similar field; MBA, CFA or comparable advanced coursework strongly preferred.
- Track record underwriting construction loans and/or LIHTC equity investments.
- Familiarity with federal and state affordable-housing programs and subsidy sources.
- Exceptional relationship-management, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
