The Role

The Fair & Responsible Lending Lead, reporting to Block's Head of Consumer Protection, will lead development and daily oversight of Block's Fair & Responsible Lending Program, including setting the Program's strategy, assignment of proxy risk ratings, interpretation of testing results, and development of board reporting.

You Will

  • Draft and update Program documentation (policies, standards, and procedures)
  • Conduct attribute reviews and manage related remediations and escalations, while also providing effective independent challenge to model efficacy
  • Monitor or test for potential fair lending risks or control deficiencies aimed at mitigating potential fair lending concerns
  • Make recommendations with the support of Regulatory Counsel for risk mitigation as required
  • Develop and maintain required reporting requirements
  • Lead Testing & Analytics focused projects regarding the following: Conduct statistical testing and measure output and Review statistical testing and output, while quantifying potential business impact

You Have

  • 8+ years of Fair & Responsible Lending/MRM compliance or legal oversight, ideally with experience in FinTech lending compliance
  • Proven experience developing and managing large scale Fair Lending Compliance Oversight programs
  • Regulatory knowledge, specifically in areas pertaining to UDAAP and Regulation B/Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), including working knowledge of SR 11-7: Guidance on Model Risk Management.
  • A metrics-driven approach to create substantiated solutions
  • Ability to influence others and gain support around compliance goals.
  • Partner with team members of all levels

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

$152,200—$228,200 USD
Zone C:
$144,000—$216,000 USD
Zone D:
$135,800—$203,600 USD
