Our organization's mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for victims of sexual violence and child abuse in our community by providing a trauma sensitive, specialized approach to assess, identify, treat and prevent sexual assault and child abuse through the coordination of community resources.

The Gulf Coast Sexual Assault Program is seeking a passionate team member! We are looking for an individual motivated to provide victim advocacy for survivors of sexual assault for Judicial Circuit 14 (Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson and Washington Counties). The position is based in Panama City and serves both children and adults.

Qualifications: This position requires a High School diploma or its equivalent; although experience may be substituted for education at the discretion and approval of the Executive Director. A Bachelors Degree in human services discipline or related field is preferred. Advocates should have the ability to work independently as well as possess strong writing, communication, organization, time management, and computer skills. This position requires a minimum of three years’ experience working with sexual violence victims as an advocate or in a comparable position. Experience working in the community is necessary, preferably in a community organization or similar role. Advocates must be flexible, as some work on weekends and evenings may be necessary. A current, valid Florida Driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a reliable car are essential for this position as some travel may be required.

This position will require the selected candidate to work with males and females, children and adults, and may include incarcerated survivors of sexual violence. The selected candidate must be comfortable with and able to obtain authorization to enter a prison environment. The candidate will also accompany sexual assault survivors (children and adults) in the medical examination.
