Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Basketball Coach to join our team. This is a unpaid volunteer position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for players of all skill levels. This role involves not only coaching basketball techniques but also mentoring athletes in teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. This will be newly formed AAU teams.
Duties
- Develop and implement effective training programs for players, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
- Conduct regular practices and drills to enhance players' performance and fitness levels.
- Evaluate individual player skills and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Organize and lead team meetings to discuss strategies, goals, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages participation, respect, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate schedules, events, and competitions.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Experience
- Previous coaching experience in basketball or related sports is preferred.
- Background in teaching physical education or experience in health clubs is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate athletes on techniques and strategies effectively.
- A passion for mentoring young athletes and promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports.
