Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in wound care management and demonstrate proficiency in various clinical settings, including acute care, outpatient, and long-term care facilities. This role requires excellent patient assessment skills, the ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients with complex wound issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations to determine wound care needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic wounds.
- Perform advanced wound care procedures, including suturing, IV infusion, and catheterization.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on wound care management and prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems effectively for patient records management.
- Provide telehealth consultations as needed to enhance patient access to care.
- Stay current with best practices in wound care and participate in clinical research initiatives.
Experience
Candidates should have experience in the following areas:
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
- Clinical experience in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with critical care practices and procedures including ICU experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and documentation standards.
- Experience in pain management, behavioral health, geriatrics, pediatrics, or hospice & palliative medicine is preferred.
- Skills in performing physical examinations, specimen collection/processing, venipuncture, and administering injections.
- Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Candidates with additional qualifications or certifications in specialties such as dermatology or internal medicine will be highly regarded. Experience working with diverse populations including children and individuals with disabilities is a plus.

Pay: $88,962.04 - $107,137.09 per year
