Positon: Youth Program Director
Hours: 32-40 hours/week
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
The Youth Program Director plays a pivotal role on the Westside Youth team, supporting our rapidly growing middle school, high school, and pre-teen (4th–5th grade) ministries. This position is responsible for overseeing Sunday morning youth services, organizing small groups, coordinating special events and camps, and assisting with weekly youth gatherings. In close partnership with the Youth & Family Pastor and Youth Program Coordinator, this role builds meaningful relationships with students and volunteers to foster a dynamic, Christ-centered community.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- 2+ years of experience leading or coordinating youth or young adults programs
- Demonstrated ability to lead large group gatherings and small group environments
- Proven event planning experience (camps, retreats, parties, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Available for a non-traditional schedule including Sundays and weekday evenings
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in ministry, education, or youth development
- Previous experience in a large church (1000+ attendance) or multi-service environment
- Background in counseling, teaching, or pastoral ministry
- Experience training and leading volunteers
- Comfortable using Planning Center and/or similar volunteer or scheduling platforms
RESPONSIBILITIES & ASSOCIATED TASKS:
Sunday Morning Youth Gatherings (Middle & High School Combined): 25%
- Lead 11am combined youth service weekly including games, worship, and teaching
- Coordinate open gym/social hour and breakfast activities (9:30–11am)
- Recruit and lead adult and student volunteers for Sunday gatherings
- Work with worship department to facilitate worship in the Sunday gathering
Small Groups & Relational Ministry: 25%
- Create and oversee small groups across high school and middle school
- Train and equip adult leaders to facilitate meaningful discipleship
- Encourage and maintain consistent relationships with students
- Oversee curriculum and discipleship strategy at the small group level
Special Events & Camps: 25%
- Plan and execute special events and parties
- Collaborate in the planning, promotion and execution of annual camps
- Work with Youth & Family Pastor and Youth staff for budgeting and logistics
- Ensure safety protocols and parent communication are upheld
Youth Services (Sunday PM + Monday PM): 15%
- Be a visible presence and assist with teaching, activities, setup/teardown and hosting
- High School Sunday PM (5:00–9:30pm)
- Middle School Monday PM (5:00–9pm)
- 4th/5th First Wednesday PM (4-7pm)
- Collaborate with team to deliver meaningful worship and teaching moments
Team Participation & Administrative Duties: 10%
- Attend all Youth and Westside Church staff meetings and events
- Maintain clear communication with staff, students, and families
- Participate in prayer, study, and training for continued spiritual and professional growth
SUPERVISORY
Manager: Senior Pastor
Reports to: Youth & Family Pastor
Supervisory responsibilities: Volunteer & Student Leaders
