About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Finance Operations Manager, ANZ to lead the day-to-day finance operations across our Australian and New Zealand entities to join our team in at Sydney Olympic Park.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this key leadership position will oversee the ANZ finance team and coordinate activities across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Treasury, Tax Compliance, General Ledger, Fixed Assets and month-end close. You will play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, effective cash flow management, strong financial controls and compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Australia and New Zealand finance team.
  • Coordinate team priorities, workloads and operational coverage.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes across ANZ entities.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, provisions and prepayments.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Treasury and General Ledger operations.
  • Prepare and review cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital performance.
  • Review debtor ageing, overdue accounts and collection activities.
  • Oversee payment proposals, vendor payments and approval workflows.
  • Review payroll reconciliations, leave provisions and employee entitlement calculations.
  • Review BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax, income tax schedules and other statutory obligations.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and support monthly intercompany reporting.
  • Coordinate external audit requirements and act as the day-to-day contact for auditors.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and drive improvements in finance processes and systems.
  • Support audit recommendations, regulatory enquiries and R&D claim documentation where required.

Qualification and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 10 years financial accounting experience with some autonomy
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance operations or finance management role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close and balance sheet controls.
  • Practical experience with Australian taxation and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Experience overseeing payroll, treasury, working capital, AP and AR activities.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and confidence working with finance systems.
  • Experience supporting operations across Australia and New Zealand will be highly regarded.
