Assistant Company Secretary / Legal Counsel
Job description
A fantastic Opportunity for an early-career lawyer to gain broad exposure across a publicly listed global medical technology company.
This role will support a wide range of legal, governance and corporate activities. Reporting to Head of Legal, you will be involved in commercial contracting, corporate governance, ASX compliance, subsidiary management, board and committee support, and a variety of legal projects across Australia, the United States and Europe. A key part of the role will be developing expertise in company secretarial practice. You will work closely with our external Company Secretary while progressively taking ownership of the internal governance processes that support Board and Committee operations. You will also work alongside our junior legal team to improve legal processes, support contract management activities and help build scalable legal operations as the company continues to grow.
Experience
• Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor or equivalent qualification
• Admitted to practise law in Australia
• 3+ years post admission experience (4+ years highly regarded)
• Experience gained in-house or in a commercial law firm
• Governance Institute Studies, or an interest in pursuing company secretarial qualifications
Highly regarded but not essential:
• Experience working within a listed company environment
• Exposure to ASX Listing Rules or company secretarial matters
• In-house legal experience
