Job description

Associate Product Manager - Technology

Fixed Term Contract (12 Months) | Full-time | Sydney applications preferred, open to Melbourne (Hybrid)

We are looking for… Hopefully, you! We're seeking an experienced digital product professional to cover a 12-month maternity leave and step into a hands-on, high-ownership role at the centre of Eco Outdoor's technology function.

You'll manage our website and digital platform delivery, looking after a small but distributed delivery team, and keep a wide ecosystem of systems and vendor relationships humming, all while helping shape where we go next.

This role suits someone who moves naturally between the strategic and the operational. You might be writing a product brief, untangling a CMS configuration, or presenting a roadmap or product update, sometimes all in the same day. If that sounds like your kind of variety, keep reading.

The Associate Product Manager's key responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the website product roadmap and quarterly delivery priorities for our Next.js/Vercel platform, built on Contentstack CMS, drawing on web analytics to inform decisions and measure performance
  • Defining, briefing, and managing delivery of features and enhancements from discovery through to UAT and go-live
  • Writing clear Jira tickets and acceptance criteria, and managing day-to-day delivery across onshore and offshore development and QA teams via a Kanban workflow, keeping work well-scoped and ensuring nothing ships without proper sign-off
  • Managing and maintaining our core digital platforms including Contentstack, Bynder, Algolia, and RingCentral, overseeing platform configuration, user access, licence management, and ongoing optimisation
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners across digital design, web development, and web analytics
  • Managing vendor contracts, renewals, and escalations across our core digital tools
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Product, People & Culture, and Technology to keep digital delivery aligned to user needs and business priorities
  • Line managing a small but distributed delivery team, including an engineer based in Sydney and a QA Analyst based in Indonesia, supporting their development, priorities, and workload.

Requirements

We need you to bring…

  • 2+ years in digital product management, digital delivery, or a closely related discipline
  • Solid experience with headless or composable CMS platforms
  • Confidence working in Agile or Kanban delivery environments, with strong Jira skills for backlog management and ticket writing
  • Experience managing external development partners or agencies
  • The ability to navigate competing priorities across cross-functional teams and keep delivery moving
  • Technical literacy without needing to be a developer, you understand APIs, webhooks, and front-end rendering well enough to have real conversations with engineers
  • An analytical mindset, you're comfortable with Google Tag Manager, GA4, search analytics, or similar tools, and you use data to ask better questions
  • Clear, direct communication, your briefs land, your updates are concise, and stakeholders trust your judgement
  • The ability to hold a broad scope across multiple simultaneous workstreams without dropping the detail
  • Proven experience leading or managing others, with a collaborative and supportive approach to team development
  • Bonus points if you bring experience with DAM platforms (Bynder or similar), Algolia and RingCentral, or have worked with offshore or distributed teams before.

Please note that we require full permanent working rights for this position.
