Job description

Salary: $101,015 to $113,067 plus super

About the Opportunity

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this, we are seeking an experienced Business Process Analyst to join our Digital Projects team.

This role offers the opportunity to work across Council, understand how things operate and turn those insights into practical improvements. You will work with business and technical teams to capture processes, identify opportunities and support digital solutions that help our people deliver services more effectively.

We're looking for someone who is approachable, curious and enjoys getting to the heart of a problem. You'll listen, ask thoughtful questions and explore why a process works the way it does before recommending changes. You'll bring an eye for detail and a practical approach that considers legislative requirements, organisational priorities and available resources.

On a typical day this role will:

  • Meet with stakeholders to understand their needs, explore challenges and capture how current processes work.
  • Facilitate workshops and map processes to identify gaps, clarify requirements and agree on improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse information and develop practical recommendations that reflect Council's operating environment.
  • Prepare and maintain business requirements, process maps, procedures and project documentation.
  • Work with business and technical teams to evaluate solutions, support testing and track the benefits of improvements.
  • Support change through clear communication, impact assessment and activities that help employees adopt new processes and systems.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A degree or diploma in Business, Information Technology, Business Analysis, Project Management or a relevant discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Experience in business analysis, process mapping and business process improvement, including identifying opportunities for digital solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, facilitate workshops and gather requirements from people with different perspectives.
  • Experience preparing clear business requirements, business cases, process maps and supporting documentation.
  • Experience supporting technology projects and an understanding of project management methodologies and delivery frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for understanding issues and questioning assumptions.
  • The initiative to work independently, contribute to a team and adapt as priorities evolve.

Local government experience will be highly valued, particularly an understanding of working within legislative requirements, established structures and limited budgets. Broader project management experience is desirable.
