Key

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WLAN and WAN environments, to support reliable and secure business operations.
• Configure, install, test and maintain network hardware and systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, traffic, capacity and system health to identify potential issues and maintain network reliability and optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network, connectivity, hardware and system issues, including complex incidents affecting network availability and performance.
• Assess network infrastructure and existing systems and recommend improvements to network operations, security, performance and scalability.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewall configurations and security controls, to protect systems, hardware, software and data.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and other IT specialists to assess technical requirements and design and implement network solutions that meet operational and business needs.
• Install, configure and support servers, workstations and virtualised environments across client infrastructure.
• Maintain technical documentation relating to network configurations, infrastructure, system changes, incidents and the diagnosis and resolution of network issues.
• Conduct regular network assessments and implement appropriate upgrades, enhancements and modifications to improve network performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Computer Network and System Engineer or a similar role.
• Experience in the managed services provider (MSP) domain is highly advantageous.
• Advanced knowledge of AD, Server management & Microsoft 365
• Server build and installation (Windows & Linux)
• Experience in setting up Networks, Switches, Routers and Firewalls (Palo Alto and Checkpoint experience is must)
• Advanced knowledge of virtualisation technologies especially VMWare, Nutanix, Proxmox & Red Hat
• Must have experience with Server and Storage hardware including but not limited to HPE Simplivity
• Experience with HP ClearPass implementation and other NAC solutions
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Customer-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• A “Can do” attitude.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, IT Diploma, OR equivalent work experience in Network design & setup experience. At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator or equivalent experience.
• HPE Aruba Network Security Certification is desirable but not mandatory.
• Possessing relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, CCNA, etc., would be a valuable addition.
