Cyber Security Specialist
Job description
Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist for an initial 6-month contract based in Fremantle, WA.
This role will be responsible for supporting and strengthening cyber security across both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments, ensuring access to systems is appropriately authorised, controlled and monitored.
You will work closely with internal IT teams and an external 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) to identify vulnerabilities, respond to incidents and maintain strong security standards across the organisation.
The Role Key responsibilities will include:
- Monitor and analyse the security and availability of IT security systems and services
- Liaise with internal IT teams and the external 24/7 SOC, escalating security concerns where required
- Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
- Assist with the implementation, testing and maintenance of cyber security standards, policies and controls
- Audit systems and processes to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and approved security standards
- Monitor identity and access management processes, including Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML) activities
- Support cyber security governance across OT environments including SCADA and CCTV
- Assist with cyber security incident response and investigation of security breaches
- Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives across the workforce
- Support Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements
- Assist with business cases for new or improved technology and security systems
- A relevant information or cyber security qualification, or extensive recent experience in an IT security role
- Strong experience designing and developing security standards and controls across networks, operating systems, databases and web environments
- Experience across on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments
- Strong knowledge of ACSC Essential Eight, NIST Cyber Security Framework and ISO 27001
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure security models and Zero Trust principles
- Experience working with SIEM platforms
- Exposure to OT/SCADA environments
- Experience working within an ITIL service delivery framework
- Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills
- TOGAF or SABSA certification would be highly regarded
