Lead AI Engineer – Australia (Remote)

Delivery Centric is seeking an experienced Lead Generative AI / Agentic AI Engineer to design and deliver scalable, production-ready AI solutions for enterprise environments.

The role will focus on multi-agent AI architectures, advanced RAG, Generative AI, Machine Learning and Google Cloud Platform, with strong hands-on expertise across

Vertex AI and modern AI engineering frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement
• multi-agent AI solutions for enterprise use cases.
• Lead technical solution design, architecture and implementation discussions.
• Design and develop advanced
• RAG and agentic AI solutions using appropriate frameworks and technologies.
• Build scalable, production-ready AI applications and services using
• Python and GCP.
• Leverage Vertex AI capabilities including Agent Builder, Search and conversational AI services.
• Develop and integrate APIs and AI services across enterprise applications and data platforms.
• Implement AI solutions with a focus on
• accuracy, performance, scalability, reliability and cost optimisation.
• Apply responsible AI practices including
• guardrails, hallucination mitigation, testing, evaluation and observability.
• Collaborate with customers, engineers, data scientists and other technical stakeholders.
• Document solution architecture, technical designs, algorithms and implementation approaches.
• Contribute to software engineering standards including code quality, testing, version control and CI/CD.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on experience with
• Vertex AI, including Agent Builder, Search and conversational AI capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of Generative AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Agentic AI patterns.
• Experience designing and implementing
• multi-agent architectures.
• Strong experience building
• advanced RAG solutions.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of
• LangChain, LangGraph and LlamaIndex.
• Experience with AI evaluation and observability tools such as
• Ragas and LangSmith.
• Hands-on experience with
• PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Strong understanding of
• responsible AI, guardrails, hallucination mitigation, testing and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience designing AI solutions for
• scale, performance, accuracy and cost optimisation.
• Strong software engineering practices including
• API integration, testing, code quality and optimisation.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• BigQuery, Dataflow and Cloud SQL.
• Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub and Cloud Tasks.
• Cloud Build and Artifact Registry.
• Dialogflow CX or Gemini Enterprise CX.
• FastAPI and Pydantic.
• Experience with Graph-based RAG.
• Gradio or Streamlit.
• Experience with GitHub, DevOps and CI/CD.
