ABOUT THE ROLE

We're on the lookout for a Planning Analyst to join our Typo Planning team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to kick-start their career in merchandise planning and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced global retail business.

Working closely with our Planning and Buying teams, you'll play an important role in supporting the planning function through reporting, analysis and administration. You'll help bring data to life, identify trends, support inventory decisions and contribute to the performance of product categories across the business.

No two days are the same. From analysing sales performance and preparing reports to managing purchase orders and supporting trade activities, you'll gain exposure to the full product lifecycle while building a strong foundation in retail planning.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification or degree in a relevant field such as Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Analytics or a related discipline is highly regarded
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into action
  • Experience in a retail, merchandise, customer, account management or similarly fast-paced environment is highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with a willingness to learn and develop within a merchandise planning career
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build strong relationships across teams

The story of Cotton On Group is a classic tale of entrepreneurial spirit and quintessential Australian grit. It all began not in a boardroom, but from the boot of a Ford Bronco at the Beckley Market in Geelong, Australia, in 1988. A young Nigel Austin, with a background in the apparel industry, started selling a stack of denim jackets. The initial days were tough, with one market day passing without a single sale. In 2004, Cotton On Kids was launched, identifying a gap in the market for stylish and affordable children's wear. This was just the beginning of a brand explosion. The year 2007 was particularly transformative, with the launch of Cotton On Body, the establishment of the philanthropic arm, the Cotton On Foundation, and the acquisition of the youth fashion brand Factorie. The brand portfolio continued to grow with the addition of Rubi, a footwear and accessories brand, in 2008, and the acquisition of Supré in 2013.
