Location: Canberra ACT.
We are looking for multiple Principal Software Developers to join our Australian Federal Government client and to maintain and enhance a critical whole of federal government web-based system which manages the collaboration and distribution of information and documents.
The Full Stack .Net Developers will be required to:
- Design, develop and maintain user interfaces for modern web applications using Angular
- Maintain and enhance .Net Core Web API server applications
- Maintain and enhance the SQL Server databases which underpin the application
- Be a technical escalation point for complex bugs or enhancements
- Write integration and unit tests
- Collaborate closely with .NET back-end developers, Angular front-end developers, business analysts and testers to design, develop, and support quality outcomes within existing code
- Identify and present process or code improvement initiatives
- Develop, track, and complete assigned PBIs and bugs to a high quality across all areas of the system
- Participate and actively contribute to peer code reviews
- Utilise Azure DevOps and deployment practices while championing for continual improvement
- Contribute to system and process documentation
- Deliver technical production support as required on a rotating basis
- Infrequent support of operations from 7.00am, coordinated within the team, along with providing out-of-hours support on a rotating basis among team members
- Other duties as requested
Required skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience as a Senior .Net Developer in an enterprise environment including C#, Entity Framework, Entity Framework Core and ASP.NET Core
- Analytical mindset, identifying and resolving production support and business issues
- Experience developing and styling modern single-page applications using Angular, TypeScript and CSS
- Strong SQL Server Skills, including writing and executing SQL commands.
- Experience in implementing asynchronous messaging patterns and deep understanding of enterprise design patterns (Repository, CQRS, Mediator, Factory).
- Experience utilising, managing and enhancing CI/CD pipeline consisting of Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy or similar
- Outstanding work ethic, self-starting, with demonstrated problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to both support and development
- Willingness to work collaboratively, put forward and argue ideas to the team and accept team decisions
- Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels from end-users to technical resources
- Ability to consistently work core hours and assist with ad-hoc rotations to support the 7:00am-6:00pm operations
Contract duration: 12 months initial contract duration, plus contract extension(s) of up to another 24 months.
