Position Title: Procurement Manager
A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Procurement Manager reporting to Executive Manager IT, BPO and Corporate Procurement.
A bit about your role
As the Procurement Manager, you will play an important role in helping nbn secure the goods and services needed to design, maintain, support and operate our business and networks. Working across IT, BPO and Corporate Services, you will partner closely with business stakeholders, Procurement colleagues and suppliers to deliver thoughtful, commercially sound and sustainable outcomes that create lasting value for nbn and our customers.
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of category strategies and take accountability for sourcing initiatives from strategy development through market engagement, evaluation, negotiation, contract execution and supplier transition. In addition, you will contribute to effective contract and supplier relationship management. You will work closely with General Managers, senior business leaders and subject matter experts to help shape commercial strategies, manage competing priorities and support informed decision-making. Bringing together commercial insights, data and diverse perspectives, you will help simplify complexity, support informed decision-making and build trusted relationships across nbn. Your collaborative and considered approach will enable you to influence senior stakeholders, navigate competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes with a strong focus on value, sustainability, customer needs and operational effectiveness.
A bit about you
If this sounds like the role for you, you will likely bring significant experience across procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, commercial negotiations and contract or supplier relationship management, ideally within telecommunications, infrastructure or another complex environment. You will have strong commercial acumen and analytical capability, with the confidence to interpret market and business insights and translate them into clear, practical recommendations that support sustainable value.
You thrive in a dynamic environment, can navigate ambiguity and are comfortable balancing multiple sourcing initiatives and stakeholder priorities simultaneously. You are a thoughtful and collaborative business partner who enjoys building trusted relationships and working alongside others to achieve shared outcomes. You communicate complex information with clarity and care, approach negotiations with curiosity and confidence, and are comfortable constructively challenging thinking when needed. With a strong customer focus and an inclusive, solutions-oriented mindset, you will bring the judgement, adaptability and commitment needed to help nbn make considered procurement decisions that support our broader business goals.
Application Process
You may find that your experience does not match every requirement listed but, if this role has piqued your interest or resonates with where you are in your career, we encourage you to apply rather than self-select out. We are interested in transferable skills and your skills and perspective could be exactly what we would value to strengthen our team.
