Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Manager based in Australia.

This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of major residential communities across North West Sydney.

You’ll manage complex, staged subdivision and land development projects from early planning and design through construction and completion.

The role combines hands-on project leadership with strong commercial, technical, and stakeholder management responsibilities.

You’ll work closely with Development Managers, consultants, contractors, councils, and approval authorities to deliver successful project outcomes.

You’ll take ownership of programme, cost, quality, construction milestones, and practical solutions to emerging project challenges.

The environment is collaborative and fast-paced, giving you autonomy to ask questions, solve problems, and influence outcomes.

With a mix of site, office, and remote work, this role offers variety and meaningful impact on the communities being built.

Accountabilities

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of major staged subdivision projects, covering planning, design, approvals, construction, and completion.
  • Partner closely with Development Managers to deliver project outcomes across programme, cost, quality, and construction milestones.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with civil contractors, consultants, councils, approval authorities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring key activities remain aligned with agreed timelines, budgets, quality expectations, and development objectives.
  • Identify potential project and construction challenges early and develop practical, commercially sound solutions to keep projects progressing.
  • Work collaboratively across technical and commercial disciplines to resolve issues and maintain strong project momentum.
  • Monitor construction activities and project milestones, maintaining a strong presence across active development sites.
  • Contribute to effective project governance, communication, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and ensure clear communication across project teams.
  • Take a proactive, hands-on approach to project delivery, continuously looking for opportunities to improve outcomes and address risks.
  • Requirements

    • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience across civil engineering, design, construction, land development, subdivision, or project management.
    • Strong practical experience delivering land development and civil subdivision projects, ideally within a property developer environment.
    • Demonstrated experience working with local councils, approval authorities, consultants, and contractors.
    • Strong commercial and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and project constraints.
    • Current driver licence and willingness to spend a minimum of three days per week on project sites.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, commercial, and operational teams.
    • A curious and solutions-focused mindset, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and find practical answers.
    • Collaborative approach and strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work across different disciplines.
    • Proactive, hands-on, and “can-do” attitude, with the resilience and adaptability to succeed in a fast-paced project environment.
    • Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes in a role with no direct reports.
    • Benefits

      • Opportunity to contribute to the delivery of major residential communities across North West Sydney.
      • Varied working environment combining site-based, office, and remote work.
      • Minimum three days per week on site, one day at the head office, and flexibility to work from home one day per week.
      • High level of ownership over project outcomes, with the opportunity to influence programme, cost, quality, and delivery strategy.
      • Collaborative and supportive team environment that values diverse perspectives and shared success.
      • Opportunity to work closely with experienced development, engineering, construction, and project professionals.
      • Inclusive workplace focused on creating a genuine sense of belonging, collaboration, and empowerment.
      • Support available for reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
