Salary: AUD 55 per hour
Desktop Support Officer Location: Brisbane CBD (occasional travel to sites across South-East Queensland)About the role Our client is a large organisation with a dedicated technology function that delivers efficient, reliable and secure ICT solutions to its business and to a number of partner agencies. You’ll join the Service Delivery Management team, a client-focused group that enables secure, scalable and modern ICT services.As the face of technology for the business, you’ll work with a team of ICT technical specialists supporting enterprise services and solutions in a predominantly Microsoft Windows and M365 environment. You’ll engage, assist and educate customers to deliver an exceptional technology experience.
Key responsibilities- Install, maintain and support enterprise ICT environments and systems, drawing on a number of the following technologies:
- Operating systems
- Microsoft 365
- Desktop and mobile hardware and software
- Conferencing room hardware and software
- Network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LAN and WAN
- Enterprise end user computing platforms, including Microsoft Configuration Manager and Intune
- IT service management platforms, including ServiceNow
- Desktop security software, including antivirus and application allowlisting
- Carry out analytical and problem-solving activities within an ITIL-based framework
- Support the deployment of ICT hardware and software across the state
- Consult, negotiate and liaise with staff at all levels, providing expert advice on infrastructure and facilities
- Help maintain a culture of high-quality customer service by following quality system documentation and continually improving how work is done
- Collaborate with the wider Technology Services Group, building an understanding of other team members’ roles to deliver services to supported agencies
- Demonstrated analytical experience identifying, investigating and solving problems in a large and complex ICT environment
- Proactive and self-directed, with a willingness to try new ways of working
- Strong knowledge of desktop and mobile hardware, Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking fundamentals
