Solution Architect - Digital Energy
Job description
The Opportunity
Schneider Electric’s Digital Energy Business is helping customers transform how they manage and operate their assets, using digital technologies to drive greater efficiency and sustainability across the full asset lifecycle.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to join our Digital Energy Business. This influential role will work with strategic customers to shape the digitalisation of their building portfolios, defining smart building solutions that respond to real-world business challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes.
The Role
As a Solution Architect, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to our customers, translating business requirements and use cases into enterprise software architectures and solutions.
Working closely with our Enterprise Software Sales team, you will support complex opportunities throughout the sales lifecycle, helping influence project specifications, shape technical solutions and clearly articulate their business value. You will take an architecture-led rather than product-led approach, helping Schneider Electric position enterprise solutions around customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop IoT software architectures and specifications aligned with current and future customer needs.
- Design technical solutions and support complex enterprise software opportunities.
- Define reference architectures, engineering standards and technical strategy documentation.
- Develop compelling value propositions for strategic customers, connecting technology with business outcomes.
- Support the Enterprise Software Sales team through technical expertise, customer demonstrations and solution development.
- Collaborate with R&D, Lines of Business and Offer Management to help evolve current and future digital and software solutions.
- Develop strategic relationships with software partners and identify opportunities to grow together.
- Engage with customers and support account planning where appropriate.
- Represent Schneider Electric at industry events, conferences and technical workshops.
About You
You are an experienced enterprise software or solutions professional who is equally comfortable discussing technical architecture, customer challenges and commercial outcomes.
You can take complex requirements and turn them into clear, scalable solutions while building credibility with senior customers and stakeholders. You are naturally collaborative, commercially aware and capable of operating across sales, technical and business environments.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with software solutions and associated business processes within industries relevant to Digital Buildings.
- Strong understanding of the buildings software market, particularly IWMS/CMMS, customer needs and industry trends.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software applications and the local market landscape.
- Practical experience working within cloud environments.
- Experience influencing project specifications and developing customer-focused technical solutions.
- Strong commercial awareness, including supporting ROI-based proposals, budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to lead technical workshops and present at conferences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across customers, software partners and internal teams.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility for interstate travel to customer locations, estimated at approximately 5%.
