Job description

Role: Solution Architect – Legacy Systems Integration & Data Migration

Work Type: Contract (6 Months Initial)

Daily Rate: $950 – $1,200/day inc. super (DOE)

Location: Brisbane (Hybrid / Flexible) - Open to FIFO

About the Role

Our Queensland Public Sector client is embarking on a high-priority enterprise transformation to replace incumbent legacy systems with a modern, cloud-native SaaS Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) ecosystem.

We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Technical Lead/Solution Architect with mandatory, proven experience architecting and delivering SaaS GRC implementations or migrations (e.g., Protecht, ServiceNow GRC/IRM, 6clicks, SAI360, MetricStream, or RSA Archer).

Sitting on the client side, you will lead the technical transition end-to-end. You will reverse-engineer legacy environments, map complex data models, engineer robust data migration pipelines, and architect secure integration patterns connecting core enterprise systems to the new SaaS GRC platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • SaaS GRC Solution Architecture: Lead the client-side architectural strategy, transition roadmaps, and integration architecture for replacing an incumbent platform with a modern SaaS GRC solution.
  • Legacy Reverse Engineering & Discovery: Conduct deep-dive current-state analysis across fragmented, undocumented, and legacy custom databases.
  • Data Migration Architecture: Design end-to-end Data Migration strategies (ETL/ELT) to extract, sanitize, map, and load legacy risk, audit, and compliance data into future-state SaaS repositories.
  • API-Led Integration: Architect secure, event-driven, and API-led integration patterns (Azure APIM, RESTful APIs, Message Queues) connecting core enterprise systems to the GRC SaaS platform.
  • Data Governance & MDM: Design master data management (MDM) frameworks to guarantee data lineage, integrity, and regulatory compliance throughout the migration.
  • Governance & Vendor Alignment: Present designs to Enterprise Architecture Boards (ARBs), ensure QGEA/TOGAF alignment, and drive technical accountability with third-party SaaS vendors.
Mandatory Requirements
  • SaaS GRC Platform Experience (Non-Negotiable): Direct experience architecting, implementing, or migrating to at least one major enterprise GRC / Risk SaaS platform (e.g., Protecht, ServiceNow GRC, 6clicks, SAI360, MetricStream, or RSA Archer).
  • Data Migration & Integration Mastery: Deep technical background in complex data migrations, database schema reverse-engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, and enterprise API design.
  • Hands-on Technical Depth: Comfortable diving into database structures, data mapping, system dependencies, and low-level architectural details.
  • Regulated Sector Context: Proven history navigating complex, highly regulated environments across the Public Sector (QGEA/TOGAF), Financial Services, or Insurance sectors.
Contract Details

Initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension based on project delivery milestones.
