Client Detail:

Our client is a global technology manufacturer seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support its growing Australian operations.

This position offers a unique blend of business development, technical consultation, pre-sales engagement, and customer support. Working within a collaborative and growing team environment, you will help customers identify solutions, provide technical expertise, and build long-term business relationships.

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to market growth
  • Expand relationships with existing customers and develop new accounts
  • Support sales strategy execution and commercial activities

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Understand customer challenges and translate requirements into practical solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process

Technical Sales Support

  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution guidance
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and tender submissions

Post-Sales & Technical Support

  • Support deployment, implementation, training, and troubleshooting activities
  • Serve as a key technical contact for customers
  • Gather customer feedback to support continuous product and service improvement

Your Profile

You may be successful in this role if you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics, Networking, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience in Technical Sales, Sales Engineering, Business Development, Customer Success, Technical Support, Field Service Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and customer-focused approach
  • Familiarity with Japanese business culture and the ability to work effectively with Japanese stakeholders
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders across different cultural and business environments

The following would be highly regarded but are not essential:

  • Experience within telecommunications, networking, data centre infrastructure, fibre-optic, or optical communication technologies
  • Previous experience working with technical products or solutions
  • Willingness to travel interstate or internationally when required
