We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Analyst to join us in Sydney.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and Head of Property & Casualty Treaty ANZ & Pacific, this permanent role will be responsible for supporting the underwriting and management of the Australasian Treaty Property & Casualty portfolio in line with Hannover Re Australia's strategic objectives.
You can look forward to
- Supporting the underwriting and management of Hannover Re's Australasian Property & Casualty Treaty portfolio.
- Assisting with the assessment of new business and treaty renewal opportunities.
- Supporting quotation development, pricing and modelling activities.
- Building relationships with clients and brokers through marketing and underwriting activities.
- Participating in treaty negotiations alongside experienced underwriters.
- Developing and enhancing underwriting dashboards, reporting tools and portfolio analytics.
- Contributing to process improvements and initiatives involving automation and artificial intelligence.
- Collaborating with local and global stakeholders across underwriting, modelling and specialist teams.
- Supporting a strong culture of risk management, compliance and continuous learning.
You come equipped with
- At least 2 years' experience in insurance, reinsurance or a related financial services environment.
- A degree in Finance, Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Economics, Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- An interest in emerging technologies and data-driven solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Professional integrity, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous learning.
