Position Overview
The Unit Manager – Information Technology & Records provides strategic and operational leadership for Council's information technology and records management functions.
The role is responsible for ensuring Council's digital environment is secure, reliable and fit for purpose while leading the continuous improvement of technology, information governance and digital services that support the organisation, community and Council's strategic objectives.
The position leads a multidisciplinary team and provides overall direction for the IT and Records functions, working collaboratively across the organisation to strengthen digital capability, manage information as a strategic asset and identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology, automation and emerging digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to Manager Corporate Services, responsibilities of this role include:
- Provide overall management and strategic direction for Council's Information Technology and Records functions, ensuring services, systems, information assets and resources are aligned with organisational priorities and future business needs.
- Develop and implement IT operational strategy, policy, infrastructure and programs in alignment with Council’s Strategic Plan.
- Promote a customer-focused approach to IT and Records service delivery and support a positive experience for Council staff and the community.
- Provide direction to the Information Technology and Records team, foster and coach team members in collaboration, encourage open communication and creative innovation and provide a supportive team environment.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Information Management or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Significant industry experience in the provision of client support in a complex, multi-tiered environment.

The position is offered as a full time, ongoing contract at General Officer Level 8 in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $135,174.52 to $144,275.56 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
