Purpose:
To facilitate on the behalf of SOL (Barbados) Ltd technical support as it relates to inventory management at Spring Garden and Holborn.
Accountabilities:
- Assist with the management of all product inventory to ensure that business efficiencies in the context of aviation, white oils, bunkering, and terminal receipts are continually improved
- Ensure all products, materials, equipment and supplies to operate efficiently are aligned with acceptable policies and standards of the Sol Group
- Ensure daily the requisite inventory operations are completed on time and all inventory is within accepted variances as outlined in recent Sol technical bulletins
- Daily dips
- Stock reconciliations
- Bulk cargo receipts
- Raising and receipt of product purchase orders
- Review of 3-way reconciliation, etc.
- Signing off on all daily variances are completed at the end of each business day as required by policy, complete with explanations/notes
- Manage all product inventory consistently through the year to achieve losses/gains within tolerance and ensure that inventory is timely uploaded and reconciled on time to Great Plains
- Actively participate in monthly stock count activity to ensure that month- end variances are submitted for the appropriate approval
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all customs duties and tax payments associated with LPG and Jet shipments, in coordination with the Comptroller of Customs.
- Communicate any variances and other issues to the General Manager via the Operations Manager for daily sign-off and approval in writing
- Responsible for developing and fulfilling supply chain objectives
- Managing and updating the inventory and filing systems
- Performing regular inventory checks and maintaining a record of the same
- Coordinating and handling daily operations in a timely manner
- Reviews inventory flows in Great Plains (GP); performs all GP inventory movements for three Sol entities.
- Prepares and maintains inventory reports.
- Responsible for spare parts inventory management.
- Performs GP inventory movements for Sol (Barbados) Ltd, Sol Petroleum (Barbados) SRL and Sol Petroleum International Sales Company.
- Supervise LPG tanker receipts for Spring Garden as required
- Backfill for LPG Foreman as required
- Ensuring all documentation related to inventory flows is complete, accurate and filed correctly
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving any issues in the inventory management flow and processes
- Checking and processing purchase invoices
- Reviewing and placing orders for new supplies
- Examining if the supplies received are as per the order and in proper condition
- Returning and replacing any damaged products
- Reporting to management any discrepancies
HSSE:
General Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management
- Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation (e.g., toolbox meetings, HSSE meetings, Hazard IDs, Workplace Observations, etc.)
- Identification of and assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations
- Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary
- Actively participate in training programs
- Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to the Operations Manager
- Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel
- Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies
- Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned
- Comply with all Sol and local regulatory HSE procedures and policies
Qualification
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Logistics, or a related field with at least 5 years relevant experience
Other Competency
Requirements
- Proven work experience as an Inventory Comptroller or a similar role in the retail industry
- Complete knowledge of inventory and supply chain processes
- Familiarity with inventory management software
- Demonstrated ability to project manage several simultaneous projects and deliver them on time and on budget without compromise to work quality or safety
- Well organized, with a keen commercial sense applied to decision making
- Competence in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, Project, Power Point and Word
- Good communication skills with ability to offer excellent customer service
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A practical operator with a proven ability to get things done on time and on budget
- Able to self-plan, motivate, and deliver results
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and an attitude to work well with others in teams
- Excellent interpersonal relationships with the proven ability to work collaboratively
- HSSE and Emergency Codes compliance
Other Information:
In addition to basic salary the successful applicant shall receive applicable job grade allowances and be eligible to participate in The Sol Group Pension Scheme and its non-contributory Group Health and Life Insurance Scheme.
