Human Resources Business Partner
Job description
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for supporting managers in employee and labor relations, succession planning, and coaching within their assigned client groups. The HRBP participates in a broad range of human resources activities to foster a positive work environment for all employees across the organization. They play a key role in employee retention, the management of various HR matters, and participation in human resources projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support a diverse operational client group in areas such as employee and labor relations, performance management, employee engagement, and succession planning.
Act as a trusted advisor to managers on employee and labor relations matters, including participating in workplace investigations and resolving employee issues.
Lead the performance management process, including talent review discussions, and follow up with managers on required actions.
Encourage managers to promote employee participation in engagement surveys and provide guidance on action plans to improve results.
Foster manager autonomy and capability development through training, coaching, and the provision of appropriate tools and resources.
Analyze and monitor key workforce metrics and develop action plans to improve talent development and retention.
Participate in the development of human resources policies, programs, and processes.
Assist with new employee onboarding, as needed.
Conduct exit interviews, as required.
Participate in recruitment activities when required.
Support employees and managers with work permit applications and renewals, as needed.
Ensure understanding and compliance with provincial employment laws, as well as company HR policies and procedures.
Work closely with the Payroll and Benefits team to ensure compliance with HR-related processes.
Collaborate with other Human Resources team members and provide backup support to fellow Human Resources Business Partners when required.
Travel as needed to support business operations (Downtown Montreal and Ottawa).
Perform any other duties required to support the effective operation of the Human Resources department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of human resources experience, including significant experience in employee and labor relations.
Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry is considered an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge of Quebec and Ontario employment laws and HR best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English to effectively collaborate with colleagues in Ontario.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
