About the Role

As a Lead Enterprise Technology Domain Architect, you will shape the technology direction for a critical business domain and play a key role in advancing the organization's digital transformation strategy. You will define architectural vision, establish technology standards, and guide strategic investments that enable scalable, secure, and innovative business solutions.

Working closely with business leaders, enterprise architects, engineering teams, and technology partners, you will ensure technology decisions support both immediate business priorities and long-term strategic goals. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and influential leadership to drive enterprise-wide outcomes.

Position

Responsibilities

Domain Architecture Strategy

  • Define and evolve the target-state architecture for a business or technology domain, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture strategies and business objectives.
  • Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that support modernization, cloud adoption, operational resilience, and business growth.
  • Establish domain architecture standards, principles, patterns, and governance processes.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide strategic oversight across large-scale initiatives and programs.

Technology Leadership & Innovation

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities that enhance business capabilities and operational effectiveness.
  • Drive architectural decisions related to cloud platforms, application modernization, integration patterns, APIs, and data architecture.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture teams to assess and adopt new technologies that improve scalability, agility, and customer outcomes.
  • Champion the adoption of modern engineering practices and architectural excellence across delivery teams.

Solution & Portfolio Governance

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, regulatory obligations, and technology governance frameworks.
  • Guide architecture decisions across multiple products, applications, and programs within the domain.
  • Conduct architecture quality reviews and provide recommendations to improve scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Identify technical debt and modernization opportunities and prioritize investments that deliver measurable business value.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with senior business and technology leaders to translate strategic priorities into technology capabilities and architecture roadmaps.
  • Influence investment decisions by providing architectural direction, technology assessments, and business-aligned recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships across architecture, engineering, data, security, risk, and operational teams to drive integrated outcomes.
  • Communicate complex technology concepts to both technical and executive audiences.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Mentor architects, senior developers, and engineering teams in architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide thought leadership across the architecture community and contribute to enterprise-wide architecture practices and standards.

Required

Qualifications

  • Experience in application, solution, domain, or enterprise architecture within complex organizations.
  • Proven ability to define architecture strategies, target-state roadmaps, and modernization plans.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, application modernization, integrations, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Experience leading architecture governance and guiding large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Good understanding of security, risk, compliance, and data privacy requirements.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile and product-based delivery environments.
  • Experience with enterprise technology platforms such as LeanIX, ServiceNow, GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, Lucidchart, Jira, and Confluence.

Preferred

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting cloud transformation initiatives across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Experience with AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Relevant architecture, cloud, or technology certifications.

  • Establishes architecture direction, standards, and target-state strategies for a business or technology domain.
  • Makes architectural decisions that influence multiple products, programs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provides thought leadership and consultative guidance to technology and business executives.
  • Influences investment priorities and technology roadmaps supporting enterprise transformation objectives.
  • Leads highly visible cross-functional initiatives and contributes to enterprise-wide architecture strategy.
  • Drives adoption of new technologies, architecture patterns, and engineering practices across the organization.
  • Shapes governance, policies, standards, and operating models within areas of architectural expertise.
  • Accountable for ensuring technology solutions align with business strategy, risk requirements, operational objectives, and long-term enterprise architecture goals.

Salary range is expected to be between

$113,260.00 CAD - $210,340.00 CAD
