Personal Support Worker

This Opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill a part-time, permanent Personal Support Worker (Internally known as Support Services Attendant) role in our Southwest Region.

Schedule: Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Wage: $18.88 per hour plus a $3.00 wage enhancement where it applies

Hours: Up to 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
• Personal care
• Lifts and Transfers
• Rising/retiring
• Bowel and bladder procedures
• Meal preparation and feeding
• Range of motion exercises
• Other light housekeeping duties
• Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• High School Diploma
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or be willing to obtain within three months of hire
• Experience working with people with physical disabilities; experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or client-based care
• Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties
• Physical Demands Self-Analysis Required upon hire
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
