The Productivity Manager is a full-time, dual-property role responsible for leading the labour management and productivity strategy across Hyatt Regency Vancouver and Hyatt Downtown Vancouver Alberni, which is scheduled to relaunch as Park Hyatt in 2027.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IN THIS ROLE
Working in partnership with the General Managers, Leadership Committees, Finance teams, and operational leaders at both properties, the Productivity Manager provides the analysis, tools, and guidance required to ensure staffing levels are aligned with business volumes while balancing financial performance, operational effectiveness, guest satisfaction, and the colleague experience.
Using historical trends, current business conditions, volume drivers, and labour analytics, the Productivity Manager develops labour forecasts, supports effective scheduling, and serves as the subject matter expert for labour management, productivity standards, and Olympia across both hotels. The role also leads the implementation of a structured and consistent labour management model, supporting change management, strengthening accountability, and ensuring labour planning and productivity practices are effectively adopted and sustained across both properties.
Beyond reporting and scheduling, the Productivity Manager acts as a strategic partner to hotel leadership by identifying opportunities, challenging existing practices, recommending solutions, and supporting operational changes that improve overall hotel performance.
Salary range\: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance & Productivity Strategy
· Develop and lead labour management and productivity strategies across both properties to optimize staffing, improve productivity, and achieve labour targets.
· Partner with General Managers, Leadership Committees, Finance, and operational leaders to identify opportunities and drive consistent labour management practices across both hotels.
· Evaluate staffing models, scheduling practices, and business volume drivers to ensure labour is aligned with operational demand.
· Serve as the subject matter expert for labour management, productivity initiatives, and Olympia workforce management and scheduling processes.
· Drive accountability for schedule adherence, labour standards, and productivity while balancing operational needs, guest satisfaction, and the colleague experience.
· Coach and support leaders through changes in labour practices to ensure new processes and improvements are successfully implemented and sustained.
· Support workforce and productivity planning for Hyatt Downtown Vancouver Alberni through its transition and relaunch as Park Hyatt in 2027.
Implementation & Standards
· Ensure labour standards, scheduling requirements, and Hyatt labour management practices are consistently maintained across both properties.
· Review departmental operations, workflows, and staffing practices to identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
· Partner with department leaders to optimize staffing, scheduling, and labour deployment based on operational needs.
· Identify and recommend changes to labour standards, processes, and system configurations, partnering with centralized resources as required.
· Monitor the implementation of new practices and address gaps in compliance, consistency, and execution.
Reporting & Analytics
· Analyze labour and productivity performance using Olympia and other reporting tools to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across both properties.
· Monitor key KPIs and variances between forecasted, scheduled, and actual labour to identify root causes and areas for improvement.
· Use financial, sales, and operational data to support labour forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
· Translate labour data into clear, actionable recommendations to improve productivity, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
· Communicate performance results, trends, and opportunities to General Managers, Leadership Committees, Finance teams, and department leaders.
Leadership Meetings & Communication
· Lead weekly labour and schedule reviews, addressing performance, schedule adherence, labour targets, and required follow-up actions.
· Maintain strong communication between both properties and promote consistent labour management practices.
· Collaborate with corporate leaders and regional Productivity Managers (Olympia Champions) to share best practices, address challenges, and support continuous improvement.
Labour Planning & Forecasting
· Review business forecasts and maintain accurate labour drivers and volume forecasts in Olympia across both properties.
· Develop labour forecasts and partner with department leaders to align schedules with business demand, labour standards, and operational needs.
· Partner with Finance and hotel leadership on annual labour budgets and adjust labour plans as business conditions evolve.
· Support long-term workforce planning for operational changes, renovations, openings, and the 2027 Park Hyatt relaunch.
Training & People Development
· Train and support operational leaders on Olympia, scheduling, labour standards, and productivity best practices.
· Coach department leaders to optimize schedules, manage labour effectively, and understand productivity performance.
· Support leaders through evolving labour practices and promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across both properties.
