Sales Director - TMT, Public Sector
Job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Director - TMT, Public Sector based in Canada.
This is a senior sales leadership opportunity focused on growing technology services across the Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) and Public Sector markets in North America. The role will own the full sales cycle, from identifying and developing opportunities through solution shaping, negotiation, closing, and post-sale growth. You will build strategic relationships with enterprise customers, Salesforce stakeholders, and internal consulting and delivery teams. With ownership of a $4M+ quota, you will drive both new-logo acquisition and expansion within existing accounts. The position combines strategic account planning, technical solution selling, executive engagement, and business development. It is well suited to a commercially driven sales leader with deep Salesforce services experience and a strong track record of exceeding revenue targets.
Accountabilities
- Develop and execute strategic account and sales plans to grow technology services business across Enterprise, Commercial, and growth-focused customer segments.
- Own and exceed a sales quota of $4M+, with a focus on cross-cloud Salesforce services rather than Salesforce product sales.
- Lead the full sales cycle, including market and territory analysis, opportunity identification, discovery, pursuit strategy, solution development, proposal leadership, contract negotiation, closing, and post-sale customer engagement.
- Build a strong portfolio of new logos while identifying cross-sell, upsell, retention, and expansion opportunities within existing customers.
- Generate opportunities through Salesforce partnerships, direct strategic sales motions, internal cross-selling, marketing campaigns, and relationships with Salesforce field sales teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Salesforce executives, field sellers, customers, partners, and C-level stakeholders, acting as a trusted strategic advisor.
- Own opportunity strategy, pipeline management, forecasting, and sales activity reporting, ensuring accurate and timely updates within Salesforce and adherence to established sales processes.
- Collaborate closely with presales, delivery, consulting, industry, marketing, business development, and executive leadership teams to shape compelling solutions and proposals.
- Lead the development of Statements of Work by translating customer business challenges into recommended solutions and defining a clear solution vision across Salesforce, AI, and unified data capabilities.
- Communicate service capabilities, Salesforce credentials, and relevant industry expertise in the context of customer discovery and business requirements.
- Ensure effective handoff of closed opportunities to delivery teams through structured knowledge-sharing and transition activities.
- Remain engaged throughout delivery to identify additional opportunities, contract extensions, and long-term account growth potential.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Salesforce services, capabilities, credentials, and roadmap developments to effectively position solutions against customer needs.
- At least 3 years of experience selling Salesforce consulting and systems integration services, combined with 3+ years of broader technology services sales experience.
- Demonstrated and sustained success in achieving or exceeding sales targets, preferably with experience managing a $4M+ quota.
- Strong experience selling Salesforce services and consulting engagements; Salesforce product-only sales experience does not meet the core requirement.
- Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem, including working directly with Salesforce executives, field sales organizations, and strategic partners.
- Experience with the end-to-end implementation lifecycle of Salesforce solutions and the ability to understand how technology services translate into business outcomes.
- Proven ability to engage C-level executives as a trusted advisor and build long-term relationships with senior customer stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of business development, account planning, territory analysis, opportunity development, solution positioning, contract negotiation, and customer expansion.
- Strong technical acumen and the ability to collaborate with presales, delivery, consulting, business process, project management, and technical teams to develop sophisticated solution proposals.
- Experience working on large-scale technology projects and with multidisciplinary technical and creative teams.
- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with sound business judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities, priorities, stakeholders, and sales activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and collaboration or project management tools such as Microsoft Teams, Quip, Slack, Smartsheet, and Lucidchart.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Must be authorized to work for a Canadian employer.
- Competitive compensation range of $100,000–$190,000.
- Remote work opportunity with the role based in Canada.
- Opportunity to lead high-value technology services sales across TMT and Public Sector markets.
- Ownership of a significant $4M+ sales quota with direct impact on business growth and revenue.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale Salesforce, AI, data unification, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Opportunity to build relationships with senior executives, Salesforce leadership, enterprise customers, and strategic partners.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary presales, consulting, delivery, industry, and business development teams.
- High degree of ownership across the complete sales and customer lifecycle.
- Opportunity to develop new business while expanding strategic enterprise relationships.
- International and cross-industry exposure across Telecommunications, Media & Technology and Public Sector markets.
